Message for Students:
This purpose of this website is to help you better understand the criteria of the product that you chose to represent and apply your learning. It is expected that you meet all the criteria listed. Please consult your teacher if you have questions, suggestions, or modifications that you want to make to the criteria to better suit your needs. Use the grade level exemplars as an example of what your product should look like.
Message for Educators:
If you are viewing this site then you may have some level of interest in student centered classrooms, project based learning, STEM/STEAM, challenges, etc...Please know that this is a working document meaning that I add and edit student exemplars of the products as they are approved. You may note that there are certain grades or products that are not represented or do not have a student exemplar. That means that I have not received an example as of yet. If you have a potential student example -OR- an idea for a new product card PLEASE contact me at [email protected].
The student exemplars are just that...exemplars of good work expected and NOT the best examples that we could find.
This is more information listed below on how to navigate the website, but make note of the tab, 'Project Based Learning Criteria'. It gives the Buck Institute's, a Gates Foundation funded organization AND considered a leader of PBL, summary of the essentials needed in PBL.
There is also tabs for a rubric that our team created based on the 4 C's of 21st Century Learning created by, "Partnership of 21st Century Skills" (communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking). It is very important to us that you know that these skills, and teaching practices do NOT require the use of technology, but it doesn't hurt to have it.
Finally, you may use or modify anything on this website that we have created as needed. Feel free to contact me at the email above if you have any questions or need more information.
